SteamOS 3 proper will come out sometime after launch (and even then it may not work on your toaster.)" The download page says "depending on what you try to install it on (desktop, another handheld, refrigerator, toaster) it may not work properly. Notably, the image makes no attempt to prevent you from installing it on a device that is not a Steam Deck, but Valve cautions users that using it on other devices is not likely to work well.
